What is the best cleaner to remove melted plastic/leather from chrome?

The bottom of my saddle-bag on my motorcycle sat down on the chrome exhaust pipe and melted. Now I have a mess! Bug and tar remover will not faze it! I need to get it off before it takes my chrome off….been on there for a week or more now.

Use a hair dryer to heat the area and gently scrape it off with a putty knife. Keep re-heating and scraping as needed. when you get as much off as possible, take a coarse rag…old towel etc..and rub off the rest. You may have to use gasoline to get the last of it off without harming the finish. Good luck.
